Rise 360 course with embedded Articulate Storyline interactions
Lead Instructional Designer, eLearning Developer, Scenario Writer
Field professionals hold a unique position to raise awareness and support prevention efforts, yet this was a missed opportunity in many cases. The organization needed a solution that would bridge the gap between knowledge and practice.
I designed a branching scenario activity that allowed learners to practice identifying unsafe environments, navigating sensitive conversations, and making documentation decisions aligned with organizational policy. The activity reinforces key concepts through realistic, trauma-aware storytelling while providing immediate feedback on learner choices.
Using Rise 360 as the primary platform, I embedded custom Storyline blocks featuring interactive hotspot activities where learners examine a simulated home environment and identify potential hazards. Custom triggers and feedback layers guide learners through decision points, allowing them to experience consequences of their choices in a safe learning space. The complete module was packaged as SCORM through Rise for LMS deployment.
Content Strategy & Scenario Writing
I researched safety protocols and risk factors, then authored scenarios with realistic decision points aligned to organizational standards. Each pathway was designed to feel authentic to the field experience while maintaining instructional clarity.
Instructional Flow Design
I mapped learner pathways using branching logic and applied adult learning theory to structure pacing, reinforcement, and reflection opportunities. The design balances challenge with support, allowing learners to make mistakes and learn from them.
Storyline Block Development
I built interactive Storyline blocks with custom triggers, variables, and feedback layers to create the hotspot activities. Visual layout was designed to support clarity and engagement without overwhelming learners with unnecessary complexity.
Rise Course Assembly
I assembled the complete learning experience in Rise 360, embedding Storyline blocks alongside instructional content, with accessible navigation and WCAG-compliant formatting to ensure smooth user experience across devices.
Quality Assurance & Deployment
I reviewed the module for trauma sensitivity, technical performance, and instructional effectiveness before creating the final SCORM package through Rise for organizational rollout.
This question represents identifying best practice to address the issue of caseworkers relying on direct questions as opposed to open-ended questions.

The module was accepted for organizational onboarding and praised by management for its clarity, relevance, and instructional quality. It is currently awaiting deployment and will serve as a required component of new employee training.
Scenario-based learning design, Rise 360, Articulate Storyline 360, branching logic, custom triggers and variables, SCORM packaging, trauma-informed design, adult learning theory
This project allowed me to translate field experience into structured learning, bridging the gap between policy and practice through immersive storytelling. It marked my first significant project combining Rise and Storyline together, and I learned to leverage the strengths of each tool, Rise for course structure and navigation, Storyline for custom interactions.
The experience deepened my ability to transform sensitive content into respectful, effective learning experiences while maintaining the right balance of empathy and instructional rigor.
