This project allowed me to translate my field experience as a CPS caseworker into a structured learning environment, bridging the gap between policy and practice through immersive storytelling. It also marked my first opportunity to design with visual learning tools like Storyline and Rise, and it quickly became a turning point in my development as an instructional designer. I learned Storyline as I built, experimenting with custom interactions and hotspot activities to create a realistic, trauma-aware scenario.
What made this project especially meaningful was how much fun I had creating it. I was able to infuse it with my personality, balancing clarity, empathy, and a touch of humor, while crafting a learning experience that felt both respectful and engaging. The experience deepened my ability to transform sensitive content into engaging, respectful learning.
